What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of heightened awareness; an extraordinary quality of mental, physical and emotional relaxation. Using hypnosis we access the subconscious mind to make the desired and necessary changes needed to enable us to live a freer and more fulfilling life.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy encompasses a holistic approach to health and healing and the total person’s wellbeing. Hypnotherapy is a rapid form of therapy combining trance inductions of hypnosis with individual techniques of counselling. Hypnotherapy makes use of your relaxed state to connect with the subconscious mind and help re-programme yourself in a way that facilitates positive life changes.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Yes Hypnotherapy is perfectly safe. You will be in control throughout your therapy session. Should the a situation come about that requires your immediate attentions whilst you are in hypnosis you would become fully aware as you would from a normal rest no matter how deeply you are in the trance state. You are always in control and can never be made to do anything against your will.

What does Hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is a wonderful feeling of relaxation on the mental, physical and emotional level. A pleasant calm and relaxed feeling comes across the whole of your body. Many people often say that while induced in the hypnotic state it is the most relaxed they have ever felt.

How many sessions of Hypnotherapy will I need?

This will depend upon your individual circumstances. This is something that will be discussed at your first meeting. It is likely that a set number of sessions will be agreed which will then be reviewed at the end. Depending on the issues you want to address hypnotherapy can often be a relatively short process. I do not believe that a person requires endless sessions of therapy.

How long is a session?

An individual session will usually take 90 minutes, however in some cases a session can take longer.

How often will I see my therapist?

This is something that you will decide after our initial meeting. However it is recommended that the sessions are closer together.
